Alcohol is a complex issue. Alcohol is legal and people enjoy drinking. We are not anti-alcohol. However the evidence is clear: alcohol can cause a range of health problems such as stroke, cancers, high blood pressure and heart disease, and is associated with many different types of crime such as violence and antisocial behaviour.

While some people can enjoy alcohol moderately and within the recommended guidelines, for others alcohol can be a devastating addiction and effectively destroy their lives. It is estimated that over 1.6 million people in the UK are living with an alcohol addiction.

We believe that the public have the right to know the risks and health harms associated with alcohol, so they’re able to make informed decision.
