My uncle had a hard life, and he battled with alcohol addiction for over half of his life. I’ve seen firsthand the affect alcoholism has not just on the person but on the entire family too. Last year on the 13th of May he lost that battle, devastating the whole family. Despite his troubles, he was the most kind hearted, loving, loyal and funniest guy and he is missed more than I can put into words. For those who know me, know how much I like a drink, whether it be a night out downing sambuca shots, a glass of wine with dinner, a pint at the football or a cider in a pub garden when the weather is nice. In memory of my uncle and the first anniversary of his death, me and my cousin (my uncles daughter) have decided to go 100 days without alcohol, to raise money for a great charity who may be able to help others just like my uncle. Any little helps and would be massively appreciated.
