Accessing our site

Alcohol Concern does not guarantee that access to this website will be uninterrupted, that it will be free from viruses or that it cannot be tampered with by third parties.  We have tried to ensure that all information we provide through the website is correct at the time we included it, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of these pages, and any visitor using information contained in them does so entirely at their own risk.  Any guidance on this site is not intended to replace professional advice and, in case of doubt, please consult an appropriately qualified legal, health or medical practitioner.

Alcohol Concern accepts no responsibility for the content of external websites. Other websites that we link to are owned and operated by third parties and we have no control over them.  We include links to other websites for information only - this does not mean that we approve or endorse any particular third party website.

Data protection

Alcohol Concern recognises and acknowledges the responsibility and duty of trust that we have to maintain the privacy of Personal Data shared with us through the web or any other source. Individuals may at times be asked to supply personal information.  Any Personal Data that we collect, record or use in any way, whether it is held on paper, on computer or any other media will have appropriate safeguards applied to it to ensure that we comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.

When we collect any personal data from you we will inform you why we are collecting your data and what we intend to use it for.  We will not share your data with a third party unless we specifically ask your approval.  Alcohol Concern does not rent or sell any mailing details to any third party.

Refund policy - training courses

You can transfer your place on the course to a substitute participant free of charge. In the event that you need to cancel, the following charges will apply:

• 14+ working days before the course - £20 administration fee
• 13-7 working days before the course - 50% of the course fees
• 0-6 working days before the course - 100% of the course fees.

Alcohol Concern reserves the right to cancel a training course. A written cancellation notice will be sent to all participants and if no alternative date can be allocated, a full refund will be given.

Website use

We may also collect and record information in order for us to understand more about how our website is used. In order to do this we may send cookies to your PC. A cookie will contain information that allows us to recognise that you have used the site before, but will not contain any other personal data. Refund policy - publications

If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return it to us, as long as it is in a re-saleable condition, within 30 days of the date you received the item and we will issue a full refund of the price you paid for the item.

When returning books or publications, please follow the steps below to enable us to process your refund efficiently:

• Please send us a note detailing the reason for return and any Alcohol Concern invoice or delivery reference details.
• Wrap the item securely and send the package to the address below:

We aim to despatch publication orders within 21 days of receiving payment.

Refund policy - membership subscriptions

If you wish to cancel your membership subscription within 30 days of your application on the website, we will issue a full refund of your paid subscription.
