Straight Talk

City centre street viewStraight Talk, Alcohol Concern's quarterly membership magazine, offers up-to-date news, expert opinion and the latest research on alcohol issues in a detailed and digestible format. It is invaluable to those working within the alcohol field and those who need to be aware of alcohol issues.

Straight Talk also includes the regular Acquire pull-out, Alcohol Concern's research, information and policy focus which takes the form of briefings, factsheets and reports and offers high quality, up-to-date information on alcohol-related issues.

The magazine is free to all members of Alcohol Concern.

The latest edition explains why we need your help to make alcohol treatment services stronger. We also profile the amazing work of Mount Carmel, an alcohol service in South London that considers long-term support the answer to sustained recovery. Straight Talk also highlights the brave stance taken by Scotland in relation to licensing in their attempt to tackle alcohol misuse. It also spotlights the work of The Violence and Society Research Group, which has recently won a Queen's Award for its work on alcohol-related late-night violence in city centres. We also consider the different forms of peer support groups available to problem drinkers and show how York Alcohol Forum is making peer support work for them.
