WHERE?

Glaziers Hall, London Bridge, London SE1 9DD

WHY?

Campaign launch

Every single year, alcohol kills 22,000 people in the UK, making it one of the most serious public health problems facing our society.

In its 06/07 campaign, 'Wasted: lives lost to alcohol', Alcohol Concern will highlight the thousands of lives lost to alcohol, in order to raise public and political awareness of the real burden borne across society because of the way we drink.

The campaign launch will include:

* The publication of the Wasted report, bringing together the latest evidence about alcohol-related deaths and analysis of recent trends.

* The launch of Alcohol Awareness Week 2007.

Annual Conference

The Government's national alcohol strategy identified the need to change the drinking culture in this country. This conference will explore the underlying attitudes and motivations for people drinking in a way that damages their health and wellbeing, and ways in which we can work together to turn around our drinking culture in the long-term.
