2011 Annual conference reports
Building a healthier relationship with alcohol: Alcohol Concern Cymru annual conference.
Alcohol Concern Cymru's first annual conference was held on 16 March
2011 at Theatr Brycheiniog in Brecon. The conference focused on the
theme of young people and alcohol, including both harmful drinking by
young people themselves, and the effects adults' drinking can have on
children and families.
Speakers included Prof Mark Bellis of Liverpool John Moores University, Dr Bev John of the University of Glamorgan, and Jonathan Green from ChildLine Cymru. There were also workshops from Platform 51 Cymru (formerly YWCA), Powys Carers Service, and Alcohol Concern's own children, families and domestic abuse team, and youth policy team.
