Government publishes response to the Health Select Committee report on alcohol

The Department of Health has welcomed the report on alcohol from the Health Select Committee and provided a response to the issues raised in the report.

The Health Select Committee published its report on 8 January 2010 and warned that the drinks industry and supermarkets hold more power over government alcohol policies than expert health professionals.
