This course is a vital contribution to the work of front-line workers who encounter substance misusers in their role within generic settings such as mental health services, homelessness services, the criminal justice system, housing, social work, pharmacies and care settings.
Train the Trainer Alcohol Identification and Brief Advice
This course will enable you to deliver training courses on alcohol identification and brief advice to non-alcohol specialist workers who come into contact with members of the public.
No dates currently planned
This course is a follow up to the Identification and Brief Advice: Alcohol, Alcohol and the Older Person and Managing Drunken Behaviour courses to build on the IBA you have learnt on the previous course and to refresh your knowledge of IBA. There will be refreshments provided, an opportunity for networking and discussion about using IBA in your work place and chance to practice doing IBA. This will also cover the extended IBA tools.
These 2½ hour courses have been specifically designed for people who have already undertaken the above Alcohol Concern Alcohol courses in Birmingham over the last 3 years.
We are now able to offer a briefing session for managers of previous or future attendees of the Alcohol courses.
Alcohol IBA Implementation Briefing for Managers of Course Attendees
This Briefing is for managers of participants who have already attended an Identification and Brief Advice: Alcohol, Alcohol and the Older Person or Managing Drunken Behaviour course in the Birmingham area and managers who would like their staff to attend a course.
This briefing is specifically designed to help you facilitate the use of IBA within your workplace and enable you to help your staff to work more effectively with their client group. A client's alcohol use may impact their own lives and your employees' ability to support them.
Alcohol causes a huge range of problems which impose a massive burden on many organisations such as blocking hospital beds, anti-social behaviour, disrupted care plans and harm to children and families. Enabling your staff to carrying out IBA within your workplace will help to improve the outcomes for your client group and this will also help reduce other associated human and financial costs related to alcohol misuse.
