Alcohol Concern Cymru

Welsh flagAlcohol Concern Cymru is working to ensure more people in Wales understand about sensible drinking, and to challenge the drinks industry on their marketing and pricing practices. With support from the Welsh Assembly Government, we opened our office in Cardiff in August 2009, and are focusing on policy and public health in Wales, acting as a champion for alcohol harm reduction.

45% of adults in Wales say they have drunk more than the recommended daily amount at least once during the previous week. There are around 13,000 alcohol-related hospital admissions in Wales each year, and around 1,000 alcohol-related deaths. We are working with the Assembly Government and other agencies to reduce these statistics and promote a healthier drinking culture.
