Alcohol Concern in parliament
We work with a number of government departments, including the Department of Health and the Home Office, to inform debate and advocate changes in policy to reduce alcohol-related harms.
As the leading national organisation on alcohol misuse, we use the expertise of our members and stakeholders to inform government and parliament of new evidence and practice to improve alcohol policy and extend services for people with alcohol problems.
In 2011, Alcohol Concern will be hosting round table events at the three main party conferences.
We also:
- Respond to consultations - read our recent consultation responses.
- Provide MPs and peers with briefings on alcohol-related issues - see our parliamentary briefings.
- Submit information to Select Committees.
- Provide the secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Alcohol Misuse, organising regular meetings for MPs and peers of all parties to come together to discuss alcohol misuse issues.
